Kevlar jacket

Here I am (left) in November 2001 at Mule Creek Pass, New Mexico, wearing Motoport's superb high-visibility yellow Ultra II Kevlar/Cordura motorcycle jacket and Kevlar pants.

I wear Motoport jackets and pants because they are protective and, most importantly, breatheable. You can order Motoport jackets with Gore-Tex waterproof liners, or you can order a Motoport Gore-Tex rain suit fitted to go over its jackets and pants. Personally, I prefer the latter, though either works. Riding 500 miles in heavy rain through South Dakota, Minnesota, and into Wisconsin on the way back from Oregon in July 2001 showed me that!

A cautionary note:   If you order a Motoport jacket with a zip-in Gore-Tex liner, be sure to stipulate that the liner be uninsulated. Otherwise it will likely come insulated, which means it can only be used in cold weather. If you have an uninsulated liner you can use it in warm weather, and then layer up or wear electric clothing under the liner for cold weather.
