Dual FIAMM Horns on an R1100RT

This photograph shows dual FIAMM horns installed in place of the stock horn on a BMW R1100RT. Such horns are available and inexpensive in most auto supply stores. The resulting sound is a vast improvement and it gets attention.

This sort of installation would work on most 12-volt motorcycles.

The 2002 and later R1150RT models imported into the U.S.A. come standard with well-positioned dual horns, so this “fix” to get adequate horn response is not needed on these more recent RT models.
